We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at The Oread Hotel in Lawrence, Kansas. As a key member of our management team, the Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and service.
Key Responsibilities- Menu Development and Execution: Develop and implement menus that meet the highest standards of quality, presentation, and flavor. Work closely with the culinary team to ensure that all menu items are prepared to perfection.
- Staff Management: Supervise and train a team of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide exceptional service.
- Food Safety and Quality Control: Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in a safe and sanitary manner. Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all menu items meet the highest standards.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure that all ingredients and supplies are available when needed. Work closely with vendors to negotiate the best prices and ensure that all products meet the highest standards.
- Financial Management: Manage the kitchen budget to ensure that all expenses are within budget. Work closely with the finance team to ensure that all financial reports are accurate and up-to-date.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all guests. Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure that all guests receive a seamless dining experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or bachelor's degree in culinary arts or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 6 years of experience in the culinary industry, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
- Skills: Excellent culinary skills, strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work well under pressure, and a passion for providing exceptional customer service.
- Language: Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
