Medical Biller

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Biller to join our team at Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for processing patient demographic and insurance information, office charges, surgery charges, payments, and adjustments.

• Enter patient demographic and insurance information into the computer system
• Process office charges, surgery charges, payments, and adjustments
• Work closely with insurance coordinators to develop a thorough understanding of insurance plans and OCR participation with insurance carriers
• Perform cashiering duties, including settlements of patient accounts and related clerical activities
• Issue receipts, prepare bank deposits, and maintain a balanced cash drawer
• Record and update patient demographic information and obtain required billing and insurance information from patients and/or co-workers as needed
• Process billing from the Health Care Finance Administration and Uniform Billing Form 92 (UB92)
• Examine visit tickets, claim forms, and explanation of benefits for potential problems and communicate findings in a timely manner
• Communicate all concerns, risk management issues, breakdown in protocol, and constructive criticisms to supervisor

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum one year experience in data entry role, preferably in a medical environment
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
• Proven speed and accuracy in data entry and 10-key procedures
• Core competencies in quality, detail-oriented, planning/organizing, communication, teamwork, and confidentiality
