This position typically spans an 8-week assignment and requires certification in Radiography. The role involves evaluating patients and executing routine radiographic procedures while adhering to established safety protocols. Additionally, the technologist must possess training and registration in an
additional modality.

Educational Requirements

Mandatory - Completion of a Radiologic Technology program from an accredited institution or a formal training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Experience Requirements

Mandatory - A minimum of 2 years of experience in Radiologic Technology.

Certifications

Mandatory - Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/or certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

Current licensure in the state of practice is required.

Advanced level certifications in specific additional modalities are preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficient computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Familiarity with Windows-style applications and various software relevant to the role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of procedures and technical terminology.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Capacity to work efficiently and calmly under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
  • Utilize radiology information systems to enhance patient care.
  • Communicate procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
  • Independently operate equipment to perform imaging procedures according to established protocols.
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure they meet diagnostic quality standards.
  • Conduct timely quality control procedures in compliance with regulatory standards and perform necessary notifications/remediations.
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
  • Adapt communication and behavior to suit specific patient populations, ensuring respect for privacy and understanding.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
