Position Overview
SAIC is seeking a highly motivated IT Systems Integration Analyst who possesses a unique blend of technical expertise in Configuration/Product Release Management and Software Development & Testing. This role requires strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with existing software and IT teams in support of the S3I Aviation Trainers Branch (ATB). If you are dedicated to delivering high-quality work and thrive in a dynamic environment where tasks vary daily, we encourage you to explore this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
The primary focus of this role will be on systems and application management, with software development tasks serving as secondary responsibilities.
Daily responsibilities may include:
- Management of Software (SW) Product Releases and Configuration Management (CM)
- Utilizing our SW product release tool to generate new production SW release packages, including the creation of release notes for each package; Employing PowerShell or batch scripting for managing installers for new production SW releases; Conducting installation and verification of new products (SW and datasets) on testing devices
- Administration of the configuration management tool utilized by the Software and Terrain Product teams
- Using CM tools to incorporate product version datasets and establish new production branches
- Documentation and management of customized processes related to quarterly production release packages (SW and datasets) for all deployed devices
- Collaboration with the ATB Training team regarding release notes that affect published training manuals
- Assessment of updates to Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products to evaluate their impact on existing in-house developed SW products
- SW Product Support and Application Development
- Troubleshooting SW issues reported by stakeholders to confirm repeatability
- Creating JIRA documentation for verified SW issues
- Conducting regression testing for SW issues resolved by other developers
- Establishing software requirement specifications (SRS) to support detailed specifications (D-SPEC) and product specifications (P-SPEC); Implementing software designs into code (C#, C++, Python)
- Participating in software design and code peer reviews
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience; four (4) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Required Clearance:
- An Interim Secret Clearance is necessary to commence employment; the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance is essential for continued employment.
Required Skills:
- Two to four years of experience in application development, system administration, and/or application administration tasks (e.g., Windows 10 and/or Windows 11, Atlassian Crucible, Helix Core Perforce), along with configuration management tasks (e.g., trunk vs branching, use of labels, creating releases and patches)
Desired Skills:
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages: C#, C++, C, Python, Javascript, MS DOS/Windows batch, and/or PowerShell scripting
- Experience in application administration: Perforce, Crucible; familiarity with Confluence and JIRA administration is also advantageous
- Training in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Technical writing experience (e.g., developing software and/or system test plans, drafting process documents)
- Fundamentals of network management
- Experience in Windows OS administration
- Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals
