About the Role

This position is a key member of the Snap-on Inc. team, responsible for assisting the Manufacturing Engineer with the creation of bid proposals. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering, organizing, and managing quote data, reviewing cost estimates, preparing reports, and maintaining quoting databases as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate bids with outside vendors to procure required information timely, following up as necessary to avoid delays and ensure both customer expectations and business goals are met.
  • Verify timelines and material availability, comparing against schedules to ensure the actual ability to fulfill an estimated job.
  • Gather and compare quotes and select the appropriate subcontractor(s) based on the most competitive pricing.
  • Perform other work as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints/technical drawings.
  • Ability to understand project requirements and customer needs to ensure successful project completion.
  • Strong organization, interpersonal skills, cross-functioning ability, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface appropriately with various internal and external customers.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment while maintaining accuracy and achieving business metrics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative team player who can also perform independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to changing business demands.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, Outlook; experience with Snap-on ERP (e.g. LN) system preferred.
