Job Description

At Apple, we're seeking a highly skilled Touch ASIC Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Touch Technology team, you will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation Touch Technologies for our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance, low-power signal processing and sensing architectures for Touch sensors.
  • Author detailed specifications, analyses, and characterization plans for Touch system ASICs.
  • Perform modeling of the system and ASIC using high-level tools.
  • Optimize designs across multiple disciplines, including Hardware/Firmware design partitioning, trade-off assessments, design checking, and tolerance analysis.
  • Contribute technical assessments to strategic decision-making relating to technology and investments.
  • Perform defect root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Communicate program status, technical issues, risks, and mitigation plans clearly and concisely.
Requirements
  • Experience developing and launching high-volume IC designs.
  • Strong electrical engineering background in analog circuit design, with exposure to signal processing, mixed-signal design, filter design, and/or embedded system design.
  • Experience in system-level design, requirements documentation, and IC micro-architecture definition of complex mixed-signal ASICs.
  • Experience with IC bring-up and debug.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Verilog, or similar simulation, design, and modeling tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Direct experience with touch technology and/or flat panel display technology is beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
