Job Summary

Apple is seeking a highly skilled Digital Architect to join our Touch Technologies team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation Touch Technologies for Apple products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance, low-power signal processing architectures and sensing algorithms for touch solutions.
  • Author detailed specifications, analyses, and characterization plans for touch system ASICs.
  • Define system-level and IC microarchitecture of complex digital and mixed-signal ASICs, including requirements for ARM processing, memory, bus, DSP subsystems, Power Management, clocking, I/O interfaces, and peripherals.
  • Develop and maintain a common digital platform architecture framework, including design methodology and best practices.
  • Optimize designs across multiple disciplines, including hardware/firmware design partitioning, tradeoff assessments, design checking, and tolerance analysis.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making relating to technology and investments.
  • Perform defect root cause analysis and resolution, including diligent bug database tracking.
  • Communicate program status, technical issues, risks, and mitigation plans clearly and concisely.
Requirements
  • Experience leading chip architecture and/or digital design, preferably in touch or communications.
  • Strong electrical engineering background in embedded system design, including ASIC microarchitecture, computer architecture, SoC architecture, and custom or standard DSP or hardware accelerator microarchitecture.
  • Experience with IC bringup and debug, as well as proficiency in MATLAB, Verilog, or similar simulation, design, and modeling tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as solid teamwork and leadership skills.
