Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, as well as providing care to oncology patients with multiple disease processes and research study patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing and experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents.
Responsibilities:- Administer standard chemotherapy, research study agents, biotherapy agents, and non-chemotherapy medications.
- Monitor therapeutic responses and side effects, and obtain pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required by each protocol.
- Assist in maintenance of up-to-date protocol information in clinical areas.
- Document in a concise, accurate, and legible manner according to clinical practice standards.
- Support patients and their families during trial treatment, and educate them about their treatment and protocol requirements.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor's degree (BSN) preferred.
- Oncology Nurse Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of oncology nursing experience, including recent experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods and procedures, and health and safety guidelines and procedures.
