We are seeking a skilled School Nurse to join our team at Miller Intermediate School in the Alief Independent School District. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services to students, promoting health and wellness, and collaborating with teachers and staff to support student success.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with disabilities and health conditions that impact learning.
- Administer medication to students according to district policies and procedures.
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and acuity assessments to identify student health concerns.
- Provide first aid, CPR, and AED as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and health plans.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student health information.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and laws related to school health services.
- Associate's degree from an accredited professional nursing education program.
- Valid registered nurse license from the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
- Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED).
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience in community health, ambulatory care, school health, or related fields.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced school environment, interacting with students, teachers, and staff. The position requires frequent standing, sitting, and walking, as well as occasional heavy lifting and pushing/pulling of students with physical disabilities.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $62,995/BA, $63,495/MA, $63,995/PHD (based on previous experience). The Alief Independent School District offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement plans.
