Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in assisting pharmacists in providing high-quality patient care. This position requires a strong understanding of pharmacy practices and procedures, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in executing pharmaceutical care, including preparing and dispensing medications, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Participate in procedural aspects of pharmacy practice, including receiving and processing prescriptions, and handling inventory management.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with caregivers regarding responsibilities and identified concerns, ensuring seamless collaboration and coordination.
  • Stay up-to-date with state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to pharmacy practice, and maintain compliance with all relevant guidelines.
  • Contribute to financial responsibilities of the department, facility, and Intermountain Healthcare, ensuring accurate and efficient management of resources.
  • Deliver medications, information, and service in a professional, timely manner, actively engaging in department and team goals, activities, and projects.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, seeking a team approach to developing and achieving best practices and processes.
Requirements
  • Current pharmacy technician license in the state of practice.
  • Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and statutes regarding the practice of pharmacy and the distribution of approved drugs, controlled substances, and investigational agents.
  • Preferred qualifications include inpatient experience and experience in the area of practice.
Work Environment

This is a PRN position with a evening shift, rotating weekend shift, and 2 holidays/year, with potential to pick up shifts at our American Fork Hospital. The Pharmacy Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
