Key Qualifications:

  • Current LPN licensure is required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working with adults facing chronic mental health challenges and associated medical conditions.
  • Proficiency in caring for diverse populations, with an understanding of various cultural practices and beliefs.
  • Familiarity with the 302 process and collaboration with regulatory bodies.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with basic computer proficiency.
  • Experience in supervising both professional and non-professional staff.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and the ability to implement relevant policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities:

Your primary role will involve delivering nursing services to adults with severe mental health issues, ensuring their medical needs are met through a holistic approach. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and coordinating patient care to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.
  • Making critical decisions regarding emergency care and following through with appropriate actions.
  • Overseeing the clinical performance of Mental Health Technicians during your shift.

Specific Duties:

  • Providing professional nursing services, including health education, counseling, and both scheduled and emergency treatments.
  • Collaborating with the Medical Director and Nursing Coordinator for managing health issues that arise.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of medication and treatment orders, ensuring accurate transcription and preparation of laboratory requests.
  • Identifying medication needs and supplies for timely reordering.
  • Administering treatments as prescribed, including glucose monitoring and medication administration.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain compliance with all medical documentation requirements, including:

  • Documenting medical issues and procedures performed.
  • Conducting nightly chart checks and maintaining accurate records.
  • Reporting incidents involving residents and staff, ensuring thorough documentation of actions taken.

Professional Competencies:

Demonstrate proficiency in clinical judgment, decision-making, and maintaining strong nurse-patient-family relationships. Uphold standards of infection control and adhere to all relevant regulations.

Physical Demands:

Experience and skills in de-escalation management and therapeutic hold techniques are essential for this role.

Recognize that clinical errors can have serious consequences. We prioritize training, supervision, and internal audits to minimize risks.
