Job Summary

Campus Apartments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities Management to oversee the physical and mechanical upkeep of our properties. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong background in maintenance operations, supervisory experience, and excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the physical and mechanical upkeep of the property, including maintenance of painting and cleaning, mechanical work, code compliance, and capital improvement projects.
  • Schedule and manage capital improvement projects and apartment work, including obtaining bids and approving contractors.
  • Repair and maintain all appliances, boiler machinery, and pool equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Manage the night and weekend maintenance staff, including bus drivers, cleaners, painters, grounds people, and courtesy officers.
  • Ensure timely and professional completion of work orders, and hire and terminate maintenance staff in cooperation with the General Manager.
  • Manage payroll for the maintenance staff and work closely with the General Manager on scheduling, budgeting, and other operational matters.
Requirements
  • High school diploma; additional education preferred.
  • HVAC certification and certification in electrical (commercial and residential) required.
  • Universal certification to be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.
  • Licensed pool operator if the community maintains a pool.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills.
