Job Summary

The physician is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in the emergency department. This includes diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other Corewell Health personnel to promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and compassion.
  • Provide quality medical services to patients in a cost-effective and appropriate manner, ensuring coverage of case load at all times.
  • Communicate regularly with patients' families, referring physicians, specialists, and other hospital departments regarding the plan of care and treatment of patients.
  • Document medical services in the patient's medical record in a manner consistent with hospital, payor, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in on-call and weekend coverage, as required by the Department.
  • Participate in quality improvement and peer review activities, as requested.
  • Support patient participation in clinical trials and research projects, assess clinical safety and efficacy data, consistent with Research Institute policies.
  • Provide oversight, teaching, and mentorship of fellows, residents, APPs, and students, as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree in medicine (MD) or osteopathic medicine (DO).
  • Licensure to practice medicine in the State of Michigan.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Work Environment

The physician will work in the emergency department at Corewell Health's Livonia location. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a safe and efficient manner.
