Government Contracts Attorney

McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions seeks an experienced government contracts attorney to provide legal support for the pursuit and performance of federal, state, local, and tribal government contracts.

The ideal candidate will have four to six years of law firm or in-house legal experience supporting contracting with federal, state, local, and tribal governments.

This role will report to McKesson's Managing Lead Counsel, Government Contracting, and advise on an array of government contracts issues.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing legal support for the pursuit and performance of federal, state, local, and tribal government contracts
  • Developing close working relationships with business stakeholders to facilitate efficient and effective review of solicitations and preparation of proposals
  • Representing McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions in engagements with government attorneys and contracting professionals
  • Collaborating with other attorneys and members of the General Counsel Organization to advise, develop, and implement appropriate compliance processes and controls
  • Serving as a legal advisor to business unit leaders on a wide array of topics relating to segment needs

Desired qualifications include experience with the healthcare industry or other areas of federal oversight, a Juris Doctor Degree, and membership in a state bar.

Critical skills include knowledge of federal, state, and local government contracting rules, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to provide sound, clear legal advice within the company.
