Job Title: School Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate School Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing services in a school setting. As a School Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for promoting prevention, medical management, and academics for students in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing services to students in a school setting, including administering medications, performing treatments, and providing health education.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for students.
  • Conduct health assessments, monitor student health status, and provide guidance on health-related issues.
  • Develop and implement health education programs for students, teachers, and parents.
  • Participate in health-related meetings and conferences to stay up-to-date on best practices and new developments in school nursing.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures.

Additional Requirements:

  • Continuing Education as required by state.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting.
  • Must be able to sit and climb stairs.
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity.
  • Must have strong sense of smell and touch.

Environment:

  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
