Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a category product line, ensuring timely and profitable market launches.
  • Develop overall product strategy, research, and development requirements, and analyze market research to inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with design and marketing counterparts to ensure consistent storytelling and branding throughout the product line.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to foster open communication and transparency.
  • Create and present product briefs to design and development teams to ensure successful product launches.
  • Introduce newness and freshness within the range, focusing on commercial products that meet consumer needs and drive brand growth.
  • Identify opportunities for brand expansion, including accessories and areas that increase average order value.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of available materials and adhere to seasonal calendars to meet deadlines and milestones.
  • Collaborate with leaders across functional areas to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain product systems, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Present product lines to internal and external audiences, including sales meetings, customer meetings, and trade show presentations.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of linesheets and import essential information into Salsify platforms.
  • Communicate product changes, such as color modifications and cancellations, to relevant teams.
  • Organize and manage product samples, ensuring seamless passing to relevant teams.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates, including images and relevant details.
  • Responsible for comp MSRPs and site prices at the onset of each season, aligned with competitive research.
  • Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert in fashion product areas.
  • CAD design as needed.
Qualifications
  • University or four-year college degree in apparel/fashion design or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in fashion and/or casual footwear industry.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint, and Illustrator.
  • Efficiency in CAD design.
  • Footwear development knowledge is a bonus.
  • Practical knowledge of other functions, such as sourcing, production, sales, marketing, and merchandising.
  • Industry and consumer trend knowledge in the footwear industry.
  • Presentation/speaking skills – able to present and sell to all levels of the organization and customer, communicating a clear and inspiring vision.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, interpersonal influence, and teamwork skills (maintains effective communication and working relationships).
  • Results-oriented while exhibiting great energy and resourcefulness.
  • Passion for the fashion footwear industry.
