We are seeking a passionate, self-directed, and experienced leader and problem solver to join the San Francisco Bay Conservation & Development Commission's Environmental Justice unit. Under the supervision of the Sr. Manager for Climate Equity, the Assistant Manager for Environmental Justice (Assistant Manager) will:
- Lead initiatives on environmental justice policy, permitting, climate adaptation, and community and tribal engagement along the San Francisco Bay shoreline.
- Be a liaison and partner with vulnerable and disadvantaged communities and community-based organizations.
- Facilitate and coordinate the Commission's environmental justice efforts.
- Act as the Commission's Tribal Liaison.
- Implement equity initiatives contained in the Commission's Racial Equity Action Plan.
- Help make the Commission more accessible and understandable to vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, stakeholders, and the public.
- Host and organize education, trainings, and workshops for staff, Commissioners, and the public.
Working Conditions
The Commission's office is located in downtown San Francisco. The Commission is a hybrid workplace and offers telework for all employees. Telework is available for this position in accordance with the Commission's Telework Policy and Procedures with a twice-a-week in-person office visit.
