Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Carpenter to join our team at Skillforce Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fixtures in commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction and Installation: Build, install, and repair wooden frameworks, including partitions, walls, and cabinetry, according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Measurement and Cutting: Accurately measure and cut wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and layout.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment on job sites.
  • Collaboration and Quality Control: Work closely with other tradespeople, project managers, and clients to ensure project specifications are met, and inspect and assess work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations.
  • Problem-Solving and Tool Maintenance: Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the construction or installation process, and maintain and care for tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Site Clean-Up: Keep work areas clean and organized, disposing of waste materials properly.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience as a commercial carpenter or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Skills: Proficient in using various hand and power tools, and a solid understanding of construction techniques and materials.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
  • Safety Compliance: Knowledge of and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, supervisors, and clients.
  • Certification: Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., carpenter's license) preferred but not required.
Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.
  • Carpentry Apprenticeship or Vocational Training: Preferred.
