The Carpentry Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks to maintain, repair, and improve facilities and structures for a USG project. Under general supervision, this role requires skilled craftsmanship in carpentry to handle everything from basic repairs to complex construction and finishing work. The technician will work closely with other maintenance staff and project management to ensure that all carpentry-related tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.
This role will be located in Chantilly, VA, and will be expected to travel between our facilities in Chantilly and Springfield, VA. T
As Carpenter, Maintenance, you will:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance of building woodwork and associated equipment.
Design, build, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, including furniture, stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and provide accurate work estimates.
Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass and drywall) according to measurements.
Inspect building frameworks (e.g., walls, roofs) to identify the need for repairs or replacements and ensure structural integrity.
Liaise with other maintenance teams to coordinate renovations or major repair tasks.
Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all construction activities.
Maintain accurate records of materials inventory and task completion to ensure accountability and project tracking.

Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in carpentry, including advanced woodworking skills and knowledge of carpentry techniques and tools.
Strong understanding of building materials and construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Carpentry or a related field is preferred.
Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to handle physically demanding tasks.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with others to complete projects.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Must possess an active U.S Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required. Willingness to take a polygraph and upgrade clearance as required.
Ability to maximize technical, performance, and operational efficiencies and minimize lifecycle costs.
Ability to maximize services and capabilities, provisioned as a service.
