Retail Store Manager
The Retail Store Manager is a key executive within the Bob's Discount Furniture organization, responsible for fostering an environment that embodies and upholds Bob's Culture. This role is essential in delivering an exceptional customer service experience while aligning with the Company's vision and strategic direction. The Retail Store Manager is tasked with ensuring that store performance exceeds expectations and aligns with the Company's core values, leading by example.
The primary responsibility of the Retail Store Manager is to oversee, direct, and guide all aspects of the operations of a Bob's Discount Furniture Store, ensuring the location's reputation, aesthetics, and profitability are maintained. The Retail Store Manager will drive sales and achieve or surpass Company budgetary targets, including sales volume, category performance, profit margins, and key metrics, by adhering to all company policies and procedures and leveraging retail expertise to identify opportunities.
Safety and security for both internal and external customers are paramount; thus, the Retail Store Manager must ensure compliance with all local regulations and Company safety standards, maintaining a well-kept facility and enforcing cash handling and store opening and closing protocols.
Accurate inventory management is crucial, and the Retail Store Manager will monitor periodic cycle counts to ensure effective reconciliation of location inventory in accordance with Company policies.
Engagement with team members is vital; the Retail Store Manager will actively mentor, motivate, and encourage both direct and indirect reports while identifying professional development opportunities.
Collaboration with Senior Management is essential to ensure the store is adequately staffed to meet or exceed sales targets, while also ensuring adherence to Company guidelines and policies by all employees. The Retail Store Manager will oversee employee discipline and relations in partnership with Human Resources, Operations, and Loss Prevention.
As a representative of the community, the Retail Store Manager will establish a presence within the community, recognized for integrity, honesty, and sound judgment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor, dedicating 60% of time to customer engagement
- Achieve or exceed store sales objectives as set by the Company

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 to 10 years of sales experience in a retail setting
- Successful history in commission-based sales
- 5+ years of experience in Retail Store Management
- Proven success in financial budget management
