HOSPICE REGISTERED NURSE

Per Diem

(Sampson & Duplin Counties)

Position Overview:

  • Utilize a comprehensive understanding of nursing theories and practices.
  • Oversee patient care and maintain documentation that aligns with reimbursement standards.
  • Facilitate the physical care of patients in collaboration with families, patients, physicians, and the Hospice team.
  • Engage in effective communication with patients and families at all levels.
  • Coordinate with all agency staff members.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality reviews as scheduled by the agency.

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN licensure in the state of practice, successful completion of a nursing program from an accredited institution, with a minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience and preferably one year in hospice nursing.
  • Understanding of the structure, function, and organization of home health and hospice care programs, along with the nurse's role within the patient care team.
  • Proficient knowledge of nursing principles and practices in accordance with the nursing practice act, agency policies, and reimbursement guidelines.
  • Completion of 12 hours of continuing education annually.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Willingness to travel as required by the agency, including weekend, evening, and holiday on-call duties.
