- Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families, promoting a positive and empowering experience.
- Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions, maintaining accurate and detailed patient records.
- Assist with the management of high-risk pregnancies and emergencies, staying calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Prepare patients for labor and delivery, assisting with the birthing process and caring for newborns, including initial assessments and monitoring vital signs.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the labor and delivery unit, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, staying current with best practices and advancements in labor and delivery nursing.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, with a strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations, with a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
