- Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed, ensuring the well-being of both mother and baby.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, promoting a safe and sterile environment in the labor and delivery unit.
- Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
- Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions, maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
- Assist with the management of high-risk pregnancies and emergencies, staying calm and focused in high-stress situations.
- Prepare patients for labor and delivery and assist with the birthing process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Care for newborns, including performing initial assessments, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with breastfeeding, providing exceptional care and attention to detail.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, with a strong track record of providing exceptional patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations, with a strong commitment to patient safety and well-being.
