Job Description and Duties

The Department of State Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Services Manager I to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent position that will supervise professional, technical, supervisory, and clerical staff in carrying out the full range of General Services' tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of staff in the Mailroom, Property Control, Clothing and Laundry, Warehouse, Housekeeping, Garage, and Transportation areas.
  • Provide expertise in all general services' matters, including budget development, personnel management, and procurement/contract experience.
  • Collaborate with the General Services Director to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and state regulations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of budget development and personnel management principles.
