Clinical Nurse IV

The IV Therapy Team plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality intravenous care to patients across various age groups, including adolescents, adults, and seniors. This position involves performing venipunctures for the initiation and continuation of IV therapy, assessing and resolving IV-related issues, and responding to emergency situations such as Code Blues and Medical Emergency Teams (METs). Additionally, the nurse will maintain accurate electronic medical records, mentor designated staff as assigned, and may conduct educational sessions on IV therapy when designated.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the delivery of safe and effective intravenous therapy.
2. Participate in shared governance by engaging in nursing councils to achieve departmental goals.
3. Monitor and enhance nursing care quality through direct observations and performance evaluations.
4. Demonstrate competencies specific to patient populations, including age-related and cultural considerations.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
Minimum Experience:
Two years of clinical experience, including proficiency in phlebotomy and IV therapy, with at least one year in an acute care environment.
Licensure/Certification:
Must possess a current and valid nursing license in Georgia and hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
