About the Opportunity:

Life Fitness is a leading manufacturer of commercial and home fitness equipment, dedicated to providing innovative solutions that promote healthy lifestyles. As a key member of our production team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Job Purpose:

To manufacture high-quality MIG welded assemblies in accordance with engineering standards, while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals and objectives
  • Perform a variety of duties, including welding, robot operation, grinding, and repairing welded assemblies on raw steel
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports and documents
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards and structural soundness
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company safety and quality protocols
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and diagrams to determine appropriate welding processes
  • Independently perform weldments on small parts and frames
  • Effectively communicate issues and concerns to supervisors and management
  • Operate hoists and other equipment to safely maneuver parts
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of MIG welding equipment, oxyacetylene torches, sanders, grinders, hand tools, and measurement equipment
  • Ability to accurately operate and read measuring devices
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical high school graduate in welding field preferred
  • Minimum one year of production welding experience, with a focus on MIG welding
  • Three years of experience in production welding, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, with exposure to dust, vibration, hazardous chemicals, welding fumes, and other potential hazards. The work area is excessively noisy, and the employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, welding helmet, gloves, and ear protection.

Equipment Used:

The employee will be required to use a variety of equipment, including MIG welding machines, fixtures, workbenches, exhaust systems, storage racks, hand tools, and air tools. The employee must be able to safely operate and maintain this equipment, and use related material handling equipment as needed.
