Job Summary

Focus Staff is seeking a skilled Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Travel Nurse to join our team. As a travel nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality patient care to critically ill children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients in the intensive care unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Perform various medical procedures, such as inserting IV lines, administering blood transfusions, and performing chest tubes.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of California.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or Critical Care Float Pool.
  • Ability to work 36 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to include days, nights, and weekends.
  • Willingness to float to other units outside of the PICU, including the Emergency Department.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
