About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, including verifying, renewing, and upgrading membership products.
  • Scan merchandise through a point-of-sale system to ensure accurate inventory counts and purchase totals.
  • Collect payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from members.
  • Issue receipts or change due to members.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the frontline area and assist with general club housekeeping when necessary.
  • Manage self-checkout and scan and pan lanes, and assist members with operations and technical difficulties.
  • Meet cashier productivity expectations and maintain all club policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Basic math skills preferred.
  • Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.
Work Environment

The majority of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces. There may be a need to occasionally position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance.
