Position Summary

At ICEF, we believe that the effectiveness of teachers and school leaders is paramount to student success. Key Responsibilities

Instructional Strategies

  • Utilize diverse teaching methodologies to facilitate deep comprehension and tailored instruction for all student abilities, including those with special needs.
  • Employ ICEF Common Assessments and Unit Assessment data to inform instructional adjustments for varying performance levels.
  • Implement ICEF's Essential Elements and Core Values, including a College-Going Culture, analytical writing, study habits, and technology integration through blended learning.

Classroom Environment

  • Establish and sustain a supportive, organized, and stimulating classroom atmosphere.
  • Develop a clear discipline strategy and maintain thorough documentation of behavioral interventions prior to referrals.

Assessment and Feedback

  • Strive for excellence in alignment with ICEF's core values and instructional frameworks.
  • Communicate class objectives, assignments, and grading criteria clearly to students and parents.
  • Utilize Illuminate for accurate attendance and coursework records, ensuring timely submission of report cards and assessments.

Collaboration and Engagement

  • Work closely with Special Education and ELL support teams to ensure curriculum accessibility for all students.
  • Engage in monthly Parent Engagement Meetings, Back-to-School Nights, and other communication efforts to foster strong relationships with families.

Curriculum Development

  • Design an engaging curriculum that aligns with ICEF Instructional Guides and California Common Core Standards.
  • Regularly submit lesson plans to the Principal as requested.

Professional Development

  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Adhere to professional standards, including required working hours and dress code.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Valid Single Subject California Teaching Credential (internship, preliminary, or clear).
  • Desirable certifications include BCLAD, CLAD, BCC, or LDS; EL Authorization.
  • Commitment to teaching in an urban educational setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proven success with students from underserved educational backgrounds.
