Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse rate.
  • Assist with bathing, mouth care, ambulation, and other patient care activities.
  • Feed patients and calculate meal consumption percentages.
  • Prepare skin for surgical procedures and utilize turning and devices to prevent pressure ulcers.
  • Keep patient environments clean and free of clutter.
  • Collect specimens and perform total baths, perineal care, and oral hygiene.
  • Assist with ambulation, positioning, and transferring patients.
  • Understand and apply principles of DVT prophylaxis and provide care to patients with colostomies and foley catheters.
  • Remove foley catheters and intravenous lines and follow implemented strategies for fall reduction.
  • Perform non-sterile dressing changes and hunt and gather supplies for RNs.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • No previous experience required, but current BLS certification is a plus.
