General Statement of Duties

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing the foundational education of young children. Your responsibilities will encompass the creation and implementation of engaging educational programs tailored to stimulate and educate children. Key duties include:
  • Establishing and enforcing behavioral guidelines for children in your care.
  • Addressing the basic needs of children.
  • Providing resources and tools for exploration during educational and recreational activities.
  • Customizing teaching strategies and materials to align with the interests and learning preferences of each child.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with both children and their families.
  • Overseeing classroom activities, including lessons, playtime, breaks, and meals.
  • Monitoring children's development and communicating progress to parents.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized classroom environment.
  • Supporting children in achieving developmental milestones.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to execute lesson plans effectively.
  • Encouraging social interaction among children to foster social skills.
  • Providing appropriate supervision during all activities.
  • Managing inventory for classroom materials and supplies.
  • Facilitating various activities, including songs, games, and storytelling.
  • Adhering to health, safety, and sanitation protocols.
  • Preparing newsletters and class bulletins as needed.
  • Working collaboratively with other staff members.
  • Being physically capable and willing to engage with children in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

A High School Diploma is required, along with relevant experience in Early Childhood Education preferred. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is essential.
Completion of First Aid and CPR training or a willingness to undertake these courses is necessary.
All candidates must undergo fingerprinting and pass a background check.
