We are a Level IV Trauma Center and a Primary Stroke Center.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high-quality, efficient care. As a member of our Surgical Services team, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate nurse who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

  • You will have an understanding of aseptic technique and apply the knowledge in assuring maintenance of a sterile field and in assisting in a procedure or prepping a patient for surgery.
  • You will demonstrate knowledge of which areas need to be prepped for the different kinds of procedures.
  • You will assess the patient prior to surgery and establish that the patient understands the procedure being done and that a timeout be done prior to any procedure with the rest of the perioperative team.
  • You will demonstrate teamwork, adaptability, and serve as a resource to the Surgical Services team.
  • You will have accountability for delivering quality nursing care services and for promoting a positive image of nursing.
What You Will Do In Your Role:

As a Registered Nurse Operating Room, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality patient care in the operating room setting.
  • Assisting in surgical procedures and prepping patients for surgery.
  • Maintaining a sterile environment and adhering to aseptic technique.
  • Collaborating with the perioperative team to ensure smooth and efficient care.
  • Providing education and support to patients and families.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License.
  • Current BLS and ACLS Certification.
  • CNOR is preferred.
