As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in drafting, filing, and prosecuting patent applications while collaborating with scientists and legal professionals to navigate the complexities of biotech patents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications for biotechnological inventions, ensuring compliance with patent laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough prior art searches and provide assessments of patentability to ensure the validity of our clients' patent applications.
  • Collaborate with inventors and R&D teams to understand and document inventions, capturing the essence of their innovative ideas.
  • Advise clients on IP strategy, patent portfolio management, and regulatory considerations to ensure they make informed decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with patent offices and respond to office actions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in biotechnology and patent law to provide expert guidance to our clients.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in the principles of biotechnology.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Patent Agent, with a proven track record of drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the biotech field.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), ensuring compliance with patent laws and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
