We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CT Technologist/Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized examinations in CT and diagnostic radiology, adapting procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results, and preparing patients for examinations.
Responsibilities- Perform CT and radiographic procedures in a manner that ensures accurate and complete examinations within guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of Medical Imaging.
- Exhibit competency in performing and filming CT and radiographic procedures, deviating from routines when patient conditions require it or at the request of the radiologist.
- Knowledgeable of procedures, assist radiologist, orders labs and pathology tests, and schedules procedures appropriately.
- Obtain and document accurate pre and post-procedure information as applicable, follow JCAHO patient safety goals, and maintain quality care throughout the procedure.
- Maintain working knowledge of equipment to function in all aspects of CT and Diagnostic Radiology, perform support functions of the Medical Imaging department, and ensure patient expectations and needs are met.
- Technically knowledgeable of CT and diagnostic equipment operation, perform reasonable trouble shooting, check and observe equipment for general safety, maintenance, and appropriate operation, and report equipment problems through appropriate channels.
- Promptly process images and paperwork according to proper procedures to ensure timely turn-around in providing a report to the physician's office, maintain and coordinate patient flow to ensure efficient and expedient patient care, and transport patients to and from the department as required.
- Promptly and accurately complete all fields in the PACS, Radiology system, i.e., number of images repeated, contrast reaction, exam data entry, start and stop times of exam, and maintain and ensure a safe environment for patients and personnel and maintenance of the QA, QC, QI programs.
- Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
- IEMA Radiography License Illinois or Temp License upon hire.
- Radiography (R)(ARRT) upon hire or within 1 year.
- Computed Tomography (CT)(ARRT) upon hire or within 1 year.
- Basic reading, writing, oral English skills, accountability, multicultural sensitivity, customer/patient-focused, basic computer knowledge, critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions, ability to respond appropriately to customer/co-worker interaction, maintain confidential information, ability to communicate only the facts to recipients or to decline to reveal information, and ability to project a professional, friendly, helpful demeanor.
