Your Contributions Will Include:
- Acting as a reliable leader of Baker Tilly's tax services, providing federal tax compliance and consulting to commercial clients, thereby enhancing client outcomes through:
- Establishing strong client relationships, guiding them on daily tax issues across a spectrum of clients from middle-market to multinational.
- Consulting on intricate matters and special projects related to corporate and flow-through taxation, accounting methodologies, and ASC740.
- Conducting thorough research on various tax issues, addressing inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities, and offering recommendations for client consideration.
- Collaborating with specialized tax practices on complex tax issues in state and local taxation, high-net-worth individuals, international matters, research and development, as well as credits and incentives.
- Overseeing tax planning responsibilities for federal and individual clients, reviewing complex tax research on diverse issues concerning business transactions for various entities and their affiliates.
- Providing insights for business and process enhancements based on a comprehensive understanding of the client's operations and objectives.
- Managing client engagement staffing, billing, collections, and ensuring profitability targets are achieved.
- Leveraging your entrepreneurial acumen to network and cultivate robust relationships both internally and externally, aiming to attract new clients and projects.
- Engaging with other service line leaders to shape tax service market positioning, branding, strategy, and messaging.
- Investing in your professional growth through participation in firm-wide learning and development initiatives.
- Supporting the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, assisting associates in achieving their professional aspirations while actively contributing to recruitment efforts.
- Exhibiting leadership, initiative, teamwork, and high ethical standards.
- Representing the firm at significant community events, firm functions, and other relevant meetings.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's Degree; advanced degrees are advantageous.
- Mandatory: CPA or JD.
- Proven experience serving clients in the Technology or Real Estate sectors.
- Minimum of eleven (11) years' experience in federal tax compliance and consulting within a professional services environment; relevant industry experience is acceptable.
- Preferred: Equity role in a professional services firm.
- At least five (5) years of supervisory experience, including mentoring and coaching associates.
- Demonstrated skills in management, analysis, organization, interpersonal relations, project management, and communication.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, deliver exceptional client service, and commit to continuous learning to remain current with applicable strategies, while maintaining a comprehensive view and attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in software and Microsoft Suite applications.
