Job Title: Graduate Program Adviser

The University of Washington is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graduate Program Adviser to join our team. As a key member of the School of Nursing, you will play a pivotal role in the operation of our graduate programs, providing exceptional support to students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and facilitate academic advising sessions for doctoral students
  • Support the planning of new student orientation sessions, with a focus on graduate DNP & Certificate Program sessions
  • Manage DNP student/faculty mentor assignments
  • Assess existing program, school, and university policies, and suggest potential improvements
  • Provide information to faculty on student progression, satisfactory progress, and graduation procedures and requirements
  • Oversee student progress within the DNP & Certificate Programs
  • Coordinate annual student reviews for the program coordinating committee
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to graduate students
  • Counsel students with inquiries regarding program progression
  • Provide support services to students, including registration deadlines, graduation requests, and degree completion questions
Requirements:
  • Baccalaureate degree in a relevant field and three years of demonstrated student services administrative experience
  • Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration
  • Desired qualifications include a Master's degree in Education, Nursing, or a related field, and three plus years of experience in a higher education setting
