Job Title: Health Evidence Review Commission Medical Director

Join the Oregon Health Authority as a Medical Director for the Health Evidence Review Commission, a part-time, permanent position with the Health Policy and Analytics team.

About the Role

The Medical Director will provide expert medical and clinical direction for the Health Evidence Review Commission, making evidence-based recommendations regarding coverage and prioritization of health services. This includes conducting literature reviews, synthesizing evidence, and consulting with experts to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review documents and presentations for the Health Evidence Review Commission and its subcommittees or other work groups.
  • Recommend revisions to the prioritized list based on the best available evidence, aligning with the Oregon Health Plan's Coordinated Care Organization model.
  • Make informed recommendations for the Health Evidence Review Commission's evidence-based reports process, influencing coverage decisions for all payers, including the Oregon Health Plan.
  • Review new procedure and diagnosis coding updates and prepare evidence-informed recommendations to the Health Evidence Review Commission regarding coverage and placement.
  • Present findings and recommendations at Health Evidence Review Commission public meetings, subcommittees, task forces, and advisory panels.
Requirements

This position requires a medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) in the state of Oregon and experience in medical utilization review or other administrative medical experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical direction, document and presentation development, and evidence-based recommendations.

What We Offer

The Oregon Health Authority offers a competitive salary range of $12,950 - $19,118 per month, depending on full-time status. This position also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, and dental insurance, paid sick leave, vacation, and personal leave, as well as pension and retirement plans.
