We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care in our 24-bed mother baby unit. At Johnston-Willis Hospital, we support our colleagues in their positions and provide them with opportunities for growth and development.

Job Summary:

This part-time day shift opportunity is ideal for a nurse who wants to make a difference in the lives of new mothers and their babies. As a Registered Nurse on our Mother Baby unit, you will provide direct nursing care to patients following delivery, educating them on post-delivery expectations and potential complications. You will also deliver routine newborn care and participate in family education, preparing new mothers to care for their infants.

You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, obstetricians, perinatologists, IBCLC lactation consultants, and patient care staff to support your patients and participate in patient and family education. This role requires strong communication and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License
  • 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • 1 year of nursing experience in maternal infant preferred
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
