The Medical Director delivers comprehensive medical oversight for clinical services delivered by Global Medical Response family of solutions. This includes emergency medical services personnel, supporting the implementation of clinically sound, evidence-based expectations for the emergency medical services system.
Key Responsibilities- Reviews quality improvement and performance reports, identifying opportunities for improvement in patient care or system design.
- Creates or directs reports and records relating to patient care as required by the organization and/or regulatory bodies.
- Reviews and responds to high-priority clinical cases or audits within 24 hours.
- Directs education and training of emergency medical services personnel in accordance with company policies.
- Develops criteria for establishment and maintenance of credentials for emergency medical services personnel.
- Undertakes activities to apprise physicians, healthcare systems, and public health agencies of the nature and availability of facilities and services.
- Responsible for approving local implementation plans for controlled substances and maintaining state and federal permits.
- Oversees protocol and operation of communications centers and AMR Inter-facility, Specialty, or Critical Care Transport operations.
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- EMS Fellowship or experience preferred.
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Florida and approved to act as a medical director.
- Current, valid, and unrestricted U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration.
- Board certified or eligible in emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or surgery.
