Phlebotomy Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at Quest Diagnostics. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for collecting specimens from patients, administering oral solutions, and performing various laboratory tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
- Administer oral solutions to patients as trained.
- Verify patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
- Enter data accurately into computer systems and collect payments when required.
- Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
- Perform non-patient facing duties, such as inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, and answering phones.
- Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic training, preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
