Nurse Practitioner

The University of Maryland Faculty Physicians is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Interventional Pulmonology team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and developing a robust clinical practice for the evaluation and management of patients with pulmonary nodules, pleural disease, and COPD.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with attending physicians to provide day-to-day organizational and clinical direction and leadership of the healthcare team.
- Perform comprehensive history and physical assessments for patients admitted to the service/practice setting.
- Work with physicians to achieve service-specific outcome targets for key metrics, including clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in performance improvement activities aimed at improving clinical outcomes and minimizing variation.
- Develop clinical pathways in collaboration with physician leadership and the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in and lead quality assurance activities, including chart reviews and peer review, and establish standards of practice.
- Master of Science degree in Nursing with completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
- Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses and Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland.
- DEA and CDS eligible.
- CPR required.
- ACLS/BCLS as required.
- A minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
- Demonstrates ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing, and/or certification in area of specialty.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served.
