Network Planning Engineer

Job Summary:

Innova Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Network Planning Engineer to join our team. As a Network Planning Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing new enterprise systems to meet emerging program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement new enterprise systems to meet emerging program requirements.
  • Update, troubleshoot, and enhance solutions within tools such as BMC Remedy, CA/Broadcom Spectrum, CA NFA, Splunk, OwnCloud, Infoblox, etc.
  • Automate routine job functions in Python, BASH, or PowerShell as applicable.
  • Schedule and execute maintenance requests for proactive engineering projects and break fix scenarios.
  • Interact directly with vendors for issue resolution.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot daily status of the health of infrastructure and services within an operations center utilizing management and monitoring tools.
  • Support on-call responsibilities and work after-hours as required.
  • Ability to impart knowledge and train others.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; or 4 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience in two or more of the following domains:
    • Network monitoring protocols/methods such as SNMP, NetFlow, and Syslog.
    • Implementation/Administration of one or more Network Management Systems (Splunk, CA/Broadcom Product Suite, BMC Remedy, IPAM, Infoblox, ownCloud).
    • Networking principles and systems functionality, with the ability to troubleshoot OSI layers 1-7 throughout a COTS environment.
    • Linux OS (RHEL/CentOS) and Microsoft Windows OS.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience adhering to deadlines and complete tasks on-schedule.
  • Work well in a diverse team environment and with customers.
  • Knowledge of scripting using shell, PHP, bash, and/or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience with Agile software development and the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Web Services APIs, Perl/Python scripting, Bash, Ansible.
  • Certifications - Cisco CCNA; VMware VCA; RedHat RHCSA; Windows MCSA.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
