The Nurse Manager for Client Services is tasked with overseeing both the administrative and clinical aspects of programs that conduct assessments and eligibility determinations for individuals seeking various community-based services, as well as for skilled nursing facilities. This role involves direct supervision of Home Care nursing staff and serves as a pivotal resource for all Client Services initiatives, including Adult Family Care (AFC) and Personal Care Attendant (PCA) programs. The Nurse Manager actively participates in interdisciplinary case management and coordinates nursing teams throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A valid and current Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience in community or long-term care settings, along with at least one year in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the Home Care Nursing Program, ensuring clinical assessments and eligibility determinations are completed efficiently.
  2. Collaborate with Program Directors and Supervisors to provide clinical and administrative guidance.
  3. Offer consultation on clinical matters to all Client Services departments.
  4. Engage in service coordination and case conferences with clients, families, and community professionals.
  5. Conduct quality assurance and improvement activities for nursing functions.
  6. Work with other program directors on policies and procedures involving nursing functions.
  7. Facilitate orientation and training for new and existing staff regarding the Home Care nursing team.
  8. Supervise Home Care RNs, participate in hiring processes, and evaluate RN caseloads.
  9. Coordinate regular educational meetings for nursing staff.
  10. Interface with community health and human services providers.
  11. Attend required meetings and training sessions.
  12. Maintain necessary documentation and reports as per agency regulations.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Supervision:

The Nurse Manager for Client Services reports directly to the Director of Client Services.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

This role requires the ability to navigate various environments, including office settings and client homes, with the capacity to manage physical demands such as driving, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Additionally, the candidate must be able to handle complex program instructions and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
