About the RoleAs a Direct Support Professional at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New Jersey, you will work with individuals with intellectual/developmental/behavioral health disabilities, providing support and care to help them reach their full potential.
Responsibilities- Assist individuals with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medication and adhere to implemented Behavioral Support Plans
- Participate in community outings and activities
- Shop for household necessities
- Schedule and transport individuals to appointments and activities
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
- Have a valid driver's license
- Experience with the developmentally disabled or as a caretaker is preferred but not required
- Be empathetic and have a team approach to care for our individuals
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
