A Behavioral Health Technician plays a crucial role in supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, from admission to discharge. Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitating daily patient needs in accordance with the program schedule.
- Assisting nursing staff with tasks such as patient supervision and vital sign monitoring.
- Responding to and managing crisis situations with appropriate interventions.
- Maintaining punctuality and readiness for all scheduled shifts.
- Providing indirect and selected direct patient care as directed by leadership.
- Conducting intake processes and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Monitoring patient activities and documenting significant observations.
- Conducting regular safety checks of the facility and grounds.
- Reporting health and safety concerns to facility leadership promptly.
- Completing all necessary documentation before the end of each shift.
- Performing basic housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Leading daily group sessions as directed.
- Participating in staff meetings and training sessions.
- Ensuring compliance with training and policy verification requirements.
- Overseeing self-administration of medication when applicable.
- Providing transportation services for patients as needed.
This is a part-time position.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and unrestricted state driver's license, if applicable.
- Minimum of one year of sobriety if in recovery.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and capable of documenting in electronic systems.
- First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire, with annual recertification.
- De-escalation/restraint technique certification within 90 days of hire, with yearly recertification.
- Medication training within 30 days of hire, if applicable.
