About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Maintenance to join our team at Transdev. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of our fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and administer fleet maintenance, troubleshooting problems with vehicles and equipment.
  • Allocate, shift, and deploy resources based on the needs of each shop, finding balance and ensuring maintenance and operational goals are aligned.
  • Communicate closely with the General Manager to ensure maintenance and operational goals are on track.
  • Make employment decisions, train and develop subordinates, plan and direct work, discipline, handle employee complaints or grievances, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Ensure both shops operate within the approved budget, accurately forecasting expenses monthly and developing budgets to meet KPIs, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Cover the responsibilities of the Maintenance Manager in their absence.
  • Comply with Transdev and client policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Advocate for continuous improvement of technician skills and participation in ASE certification programs.
  • Ensure a safe environment exists and all maintenance activities comply with State, Federal, and Company requirements.
  • Initiate and implement projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's, Bachelor's, or Technical training preferred.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience.
  • Direct automotive, diesel, CNG, alternative fuel, and Zero emissions vehicle repair experience. Transit bus experience is required.
  • Strong employee management skills, including experience in a union environment.
  • Financial and budget forecasting experience is required.
  • Ability to prioritize company and client objectives.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Master ASE certification strongly preferred. Must be willing to obtain ASEs and promote ASE program to staff.
  • Subject to a drug screen.
