REPORTS TO: Maintenance Group Leader or Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY: Individuals in this role are anticipated to carry out minor repairs and enhancements across various trades under the guidance of a group leader or supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct general upkeep tasks on facilities and machinery.
- Execute preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Perform minor electrical tasks that do not necessitate a licensed electrician, such as changing light bulbs and fuses.
- Assist with basic carpentry and repair assignments.
- Ensure machinery, tools, and equipment are maintained through cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and oiling to promote optimal functionality.
- Apply paint, varnish, and stain to various surfaces to protect and enhance their appearance using suitable tools and equipment.
- Carry out related duties as necessary.
- Adhere to plant-specific job specifications and task lists.
- Comply with all safety protocols, both departmental and plant-wide.
- Maintain 5-S standards for designated areas and equipment.
- Complete required departmental documentation.
- Possess a general understanding of computer software and maintenance work order systems.
- Understand and follow LOTO (lock out tag out) procedures.
- Be knowledgeable in the proper use of power and hand tools.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using a volt Ohm meter.
- Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of Quality and Environmental Policies.
- Authority for an employee is granted through work instructions, policies, procedures, and/or directives from management to fulfill customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of verified on-the-job training.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices utilized in electrical or mechanical fields.
- Ability to interpret and work from sketches and blueprints.
