Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate various mold fabricating equipment, including CNC machines and EDM systems.
  • Read and interpret mold drawings to ensure accuracy and precision, using your knowledge of machining and tooling principles.
  • Design, manufacture, and repair molds and components of complex design, using your expertise in metalworking and fabrication techniques.
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble injection molds to maintain optimal performance, adhering to strict quality control procedures.
  • Determine which mold components require repair or replacement to ensure proper gating, venting, and cooling of molds, using your analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Polish mold component finishes as required to maintain quality standards, using your attention to detail and precision.
  • Perform routine mold repairs and fabricate mold components via established methods, working efficiently and effectively to meet production deadlines.
  • Collaborate with more experienced Mold Makers on large and complicated multi-cavity molds, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve exceptional results.
  • Observe and adhere to all safety and environmental procedures, as well as Quality Systems Requirements (QSRs), to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the workshop, including the inspection of hoists and other equipment.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Vocational or Technical School training or education in Machining or Tool & Die preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Machinist or Tool & Die, with a strong background in metalworking and fabrication techniques.
  • EDM proficiency preferred.
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, 7pm-7am, as required.
