Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surplus Manager to join our team at Schneider. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing surplus inventory day-to-day operations, managing surplus property duties, and leading a team. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage surplus property surrender, storage, diversion, receipt, inventory, and electronic documentation.
  • Direct surplus inventory day-to-day, including administrative, financial, customer service, marketing, and sales.
  • Prepare, verify, analyze, and monitor annual department budget; assess short- and long-term budgetary needs.
  • Supervise staff, including hiring, distributing, and reviewing work, performance reviews, and documenting disciplinary actions and other human resource administration.
  • Maintain website sales, inventory, and marketing in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Manage and coordinate marketing endeavors.
  • Direct layout and organization of the sales floor.
  • Facilitate and maintain proper inventory levels of all surplus materials.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of all surplus inventory.
  • Establish vendor and non-profit contacts and relationships that assist with processing and diverting surplus property and specialty recycling streams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in inventory management, surplus property, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work closely with the Logistics Manager to coordinate collection and transportation of surplus property, e-waste, and other specialty recycling streams.
