Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dishwasher Team Member to join our culinary team at Hilton Garden Inn FWB. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Remove soiled plates and flatware from tables and wash them thoroughly
  • Restock items and unload delivery trucks
  • Help prepare cook stations and clean appliances and machines
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • Promote a positive and caring work environment by addressing and resolving any conflict in a calm and poised manner
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of menus and preparation requirements
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves for easy access
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings for cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other prep
  • Set up workstations and ingredients for food preparation
  • Undertake basic cooking duties, such as reducing sauces and parboiling food
  • Prepare simple dishes, such as salads and entrees
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to opening
  • Prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards
  • Recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • Bake, grill, steam, and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods
  • Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working area, with awareness of all sanitary practices

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of dishwashing or kitchen experience required, hospitality industry preferred
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form
  • Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English to communicate with guests and team members
  • Knowledge of reservation and POS systems
  • Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred
  • Must be able to multi-task and be detail-oriented
  • Must be a team player
